Teachers, bring your class to the museum for any of our programs or have us come to you! (Restrictions may apply) The museum received a bus transportation grant to financially assist Orange County schools in transporting students to the museum. Please contact us to see if your school qualifies.

Junior Curator Program
The museum's Heritage Education program is NC Curriculum-based and can be adapted for groups K-5. Each program lasts ~45 minutes, and can be done in a single morning or afternoon visit to the museum.

Art at Fairview Park
From May to August, the museum regularly leads family-friendly activities at Fairview Park. The activities are free and open to the public! Appropriate for children ages 5-14. Parents please plan to remain with children. All materials will be provided.
Hillsborough's Last Friday ArtWalk
From April - September, the museum directs family-friendly activities at Hillsborough's Last Friday ArtWalk. Free and open to the public.
The Museum is part of Teaching with Hillsborough's Historic Sites, done in conjunction with the Burwell School Historic Site and the Alliance for Historic Hillsborough. The Traveling Trunks program allows teachers and group leaders to get hands-on activities and specially designed lesson plans in their classrooms. They are also ideal for scout groups, churches, and after-school programs. Rent one of the Traveling Trunks for two weeks at a cost of $10.
